Challenge
Holidaying in the UK – commonly known as a ‘staycation’ – has seen an increase in popularity because of the coronavirus pandemic.
As a result of ongoing international travel restrictions, the summers of 2020 and 2021 have seen a staycation boom, with searches for ‘staycation’ in Google seeing an 83% increase (simplybusiness.co.uk).
In an attempt to capitalise on this opportunity, our client Parc Maerdy, tasked us with helping them significantly improve their visibility online in June 2021, a month prior to the re-opening of their luxury pod and glamping site, in order to maximise bookings for the year.
Solution
Due to the platform's incredible reach among the desired target audience, our agreed upon approach was to build and launch a Facebook awareness campaign. Facebook offers a client the ability to amplify their message to a large audience in a short period of time, which was crucial for our campaign’s tight timeline.
Work completed by the agency consisted of asset creation, including single image and carousel creative, Facebook and website tracking to monitor performance and measure success and campaign management throughout to maximise effectiveness.
Results
1,486,856 people reached on Facebook
Generating an additional 32,000 website sessions
From over 28,500 new users to the website
Producing 5000 clicks on the Booking.com link
August 2021 saw a 6000% increase in nights booked compared to 2020.
